Last reviewed: July 2026. This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies this website uses, and how you control them.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. It lets the site remember things between page loads — that you are signed in, that you chose dark mode, or that you already answered the cookie banner. "Similar technologies" means localStorage and sessionStorage, which work the same way for our purposes and are covered by this policy.
2. Our approach: nothing optional runs before you choose
When you first visit, only the cookies strictly necessary for the site to work are set. Analytics cookies are not set until you accept them. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics or measurement cookie is written at all — we do not treat scrolling or continued browsing as consent.
3. The cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary — always on
These cannot be switched off, because the site cannot function without them. Under PDPL and the ePrivacy rules they do not require consent.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
vp_consent | Remembers your cookie choice, so we do not ask again on every page — and so we can prove what you chose | 1 year |
| Session cookie | Keeps your session and secures forms against cross-site request forgery | Until you close the browser |
vp_chat_seen | Remembers that you have already seen the assistant prompt, so it does not reopen on every page | 30 days |
| Theme preference | Remembers light or dark mode (stored in localStorage, not sent to us) | Until cleared |
3.2 Analytics — only with your consent
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
vp_visitor | A random identifier that lets us count a returning visitor as one person rather than several. Not linked to your name unless you separately submit a form | 1 year |
vp_attr | Remembers which campaign or link brought you here, so we can tell which marketing actually works | 30 days |
Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Aggregate traffic measurement, where enabled by us and accepted by you | Up to 2 years |
What we measure with these is described in section 2.3 of our Privacy Policy. Analytics data is deleted after 90 days.
3.3 Security
Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans from bots. It may set a short-lived token in your browser. Turnstile is designed not to track you across websites and is not used for advertising.
4. What we do NOT use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No cross-site tracking, and no data broker or ad-network pixels.
- No fingerprinting to identify you when you decline cookies.
- No selling of any data collected through cookies.
5. Changing your mind
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Privacy settings" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection immediately; data already collected is deleted at the end of its retention period.
You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, or refuse them entirely. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site — forms in particular.
6. Do Not Track
Browsers vary in how they signal a tracking preference, and there is no agreed standard for honouring it. Rather than rely on that, we simply do not run analytics unless you have actively accepted them.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add a cookie or change what an existing one does, we will update this page and — where the change affects a purpose you consented to — ask for your consent again.
8. Governing language
This policy is published in several languages for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the English version governs.
